Dallas Police have taken discipline against 3 of 6 police officers by placing them on leave or restricted duty after a cruiser dash cam recorded them beating motorist Andrew Collins. Three officers have been charged with (F) Tampering with or Fabricating Physical Evidence and two of the three have additionally been charged with (M) Assault and Official Oppression. Dallas police Chief David Brown stated "This won't be tolerated, This is not indicative of the Dallas Police Department. No one incident defines our character.

After Collins was arrested, an officer is shown walking back to the cruiser with the dash cam running and promptly moves the video so the officers cannot be seen. At this point is when Collins was beaten by the officers, who told superiors that they had no idea what he was talking about and that they had committed no crime. Brown added "But once the conversation was complete, there was appreciation for the transparency and honesty."
